4. 지원자격
가. 학 적 : 본교 재학생(휴학생 포함)으로 본교에서 2학기 이상 이수한 자 (대학원생의 경우, 본교에서 1학기 이상 이수한 자)
나. 성 적 : 기 이수한 학기(학부생: 본교 2학기 이상, 대학원생: 본교 1학기 이상)까지의 평점평균이 학부생 2.7 이상, 대학원생 3.3 이상인 자
다. 자격제한
ㆍ학칙 상 징계 받은 사실이 있는 자
ㆍ학부 및 대학원 재학 중 단과대학 협정 또는 본부 협정을 통하여 국외수학 승인을 받고 외국대학에서 수학한 기간이 1개 학기를 초과하는 자(계절학기 미포함)
ㆍ본부 파견 교환학생으로 선발된 후 취소한 경험이 있는 자
ㆍ2011학년도 2학기 및 2012학년도 1학기 파견 교환프로그램 시기 중 군 입대 예정인 자
5. 본교 선발기준 안내
가. 초청 외국대학에서 제시한 지원자격(학업성적, *어학성적 등 포함)을 충족하는 지원자
에 한하여 **학업성적(평균평점) 순으로 선발
*어학성적의 경우 소속 단과대학(원)의 접수마감일까지 지원한 대학에서 요구하는 공인외국어성적표를 제출 (대학교 별 요구하는 어학성적은 붙임“2011년 2학기 유럽지역 교환학생 파견계획(추가모집)” 참조)해야 하며, 최근 공인외국어시험에 응시하였으나 원본 성적표가 도착하지 않은 경우 지원 불가. 또한, 어학성적은 2009년 9월 이후 응시한 성적이어야 함.
**학업성적은 지원 당시 발급한 성적표상 전체 평균평점(overall GPA)이며, 평균평점이 동점일 경우, 이수 학점이 많은 지원자를 우선 선발함. (이수학점도 동점일 경우에는 수학계획서를 고려) (대학원생 지원자의 학업성적은 대학원과정의 평균평점만을 반영함.)
나. 유럽지역 내 협정교 중 최대 3개교 (제3지망까지) 지원가능하며, 각 대학별 최고점자를 선발 (다시 말하면 A학교를 3지망으로 기입한 학생이 1지망으로 기입한 학생보다 점수가 높을 경우 3지망으로 기입한 학생이 선발되는 것임). 복수 선발된 학생의 경우(지망한 3개 외국대학에서 모두 최고점자인 경우) 제1지망 학교에 우선 배정
다. 선발된 학생의 경우 이후 진행되는 파견교환학생 선발(2011학년도 2학기 타 지역 파견교환학생 선발 포함)에 지원 불가.
6. 지원서류
다음의 서류를 갖추어 소속 단과대학(원) 행정실에 제출
ㆍ 2011학년도 2학기 파견교환학생 지원서(붙임) 1부
ㆍ 국문 성적표 1부
ㆍ 지원하는 각 대학에서 요구하는 공인외국어성적표 사본 각 1부
※ 어학 시험에 응시하였으나 성적표 원본이 도착하지 않은 경우에는 지원 불가능함.
※ 공인외국어성적표 원본은 파견교환학생 후보자 선발 후 국제협력본부로 제출
※ 단, 성적유효기간[최소 2011년 9월까지 유효할 것] 주의
ㆍ 국문 수학계획서 1부(별도 서식 없음): 본인이 교환학생 기간 동안 이루고 싶은 것에 대한
포부, 계획, 왜 지망한 대학에 가고 싶은가 등을 자유롭게 서술
7. 지원서 접수안내 및 후보자 추천 절차
ㆍ지원서 양식을 작성 후 출력하여 다른 지원서류와 함께 소속 단과대학(원)으로 제출
ㆍ지원서 접수처: 학과(부) 사무실 또는 단과 대학(원) 행정실
※ 단과대학(원)별 지원서 접수마감 시한 등이 상이하므로, 지원자 스스로가 사전 확인 요망
ㆍ각 단과대학(원)별 담당직원이 지원자의 지원서 상에 징계사실 유무, 국외수학 사실 유무 및 기간 확인
ㆍ소속 단과대학(원)장이 2011.3.17.(목)까지 ‘2011년 2학기 유럽지역 파견교환학생 추천양식’에 의거하여 국제협력본부로 추천(인원제한 없음)
8. 교환학생 선발 및 파견
ㆍ 국제협력본부는 ‘교환학생선발위원회’를 구성하여 추천된 후보자중 교환학생을 선발하여 지망 외국대학에 추천(교환학생의 최종 입학허가 여부는 초청 외국대학의 권한임)
ㆍ 지원자가 미달된 경우에는 추가 공지하여 선발할 수 있음
ㆍ 지망하는 외국대학의 학사 일정에 따라 2011년 8-10월 중 교환학생 파견
※ 교환학생으로 선발된 후 파견을 취소하는 자는 향후 모든 교환학생 선발에 지원 불가능
9. 수학기간
ㆍ 교환학생 수학기간은 1개 학기(2011학년도 2학기) 혹은 1년(2011학년도 2학기 및 2012학년도 1학기)으로 함
ㆍ 교환학생 추천은 1인당 1회에 한함 (교환학생 후보로 선발된 후)
10. 등록금 관련
파견교환학생은 반드시 파견학기 서울대 등록금을 납부하고 등록을 해야 하며, 파견되는 대학교의 등록금은 면제됨. 기타 항공료, 생활비, 보험료 등의 비용은 모두 본인이 부담해야 함.
11. 교환학생 지원금
교환학생 선발 후 외국대학에서 입학허가를 받은 학생을 대상으로 가정형편을 고려, 학기당
100명 내외의 학생을 선정하여 학기당 약 200만원 (2011년 예산에 따라 달라질 수 있음) 지원 예정
12. 학점의 취득
교환학생은 외국대학에서 다음과 같이 최소한의 학점을 취득하여야 함.
ㆍ 학부과정 : 학기당 6학점 이상
ㆍ 대학원과정 : 학기당 3학점 이상
초청대학에 따라 최소이수학점이 위 학점보다 많을 수 있음
13. 학점의 인정
ㆍ 국외수학 승인에 관한 사항 및 학점의 인정은 “서울대학교와 외국대학과의 학생교류수학 및
학점인정에 관한규정”에 의함
ㆍ 학점승인과 관련한 사항 및 학사행정 문의는 소속 단과대학 행정실로 할 것
14. 지망대학 정보
ㆍ 지망대학에 관한 정보는 붙임2“2011년 2학기 유럽지역 교환학생 파견계획(추가모집)”을 참조하고 관련 대학홈페이지를 방문하여 학생 본인이 직접 확인. 각 대학별로 자격요건, 학기제, 지원 불가능하거나 수강이 불가능한 학과∙수업 정보가 상이하므로 지망 대학 선정 시 학생 개인이 충분히 알아보고 지원할 것

Application Guideline for SNU Outgoing Student Exchange Program
for Fall Semester 2011 (Europe)
The Office of International Affairs(OIA) at SNU is planning to select 28 SNU students to apply for exchange programs with our partner universities in Europe region, for the Fall semester 2011. 14 partner universities in 6 countries in this region are willing to accept applications from SNU students. Exchange programs are mainly for undergraduate students, but some universities offer exchange programs (usually coursework) for graduate students. Graduate programs for exchange students may be limited and competitive. SNU would like to select qualifying students and nominate them to partner universities.
1. Eligibility
1-1. for undergraduate student;
a. must be enrolled at SNU and have completed at least two semesters at SNU
b. minimum overall GPA of 2.7
1-2. for graduate student;
a. must be enrolled at SNU and have completed at least one semester at SNU
b. minimum overall GPA of 3.3
1-3. prohibition; those who fall into any of the following categories are not allowed to apply
a. students who have been under university disciplinary action
b. students who have studied at a university abroad through SNU on a faculty or university level student exchange for more than one semester
c. students who have withdrawn from any of the OIA's previous outgoing exchange programs after being selected
d. students who are required to serve in the army any time during the exchange program
2. SNU's Selection Criteria
a. The applicant must have an original copies of valid official language test score result(s) which are required by universities that he or she is applying for.
※ Unofficial copies of language test score results will not be accepted. (Students who took a official language test but have not received the official transcript cannot apply.)
※ For minimum language requirement of each university, please refer to the Attachment "2011년 2학기 유럽지역 교환학생 파견계획(추가모집)."
※ Language test score must be less than two years by September 2011. (Test date must not be earlier than September 2009.)
b. Applicants who satisfy the minimum language requirement will be selected by overall GPA.
※ If two students chose same university and have the same overall GPA, the student who has a higher 'total number of credits' on SNU transcript will be selected. If both overall GPA and total number of credits are same, OIA will use the Statement of Purpose to select candidates.
c. Each Applicant may choose up to three universities listed in the Attachment "2011년 2학기 유럽지역 교환학생 파견계획(추가모집)" and rank them in order. SNU will select successful candidates for each university based on applicants' overall GPA.
(That means, for example, if applicant A chooses P University as his 1st choice and applicant B chooses P University as his 3rd choice, where B's GPA is higher than A's, B will be selected for P University.)
If a student is selected for more than two universities, the student is automatically assigned to his or her university based on preference.
(For example, if applicant C has chosen Q University (1st choice), R University (2nd choice), and S University (3rd choice), and she has highest GPA among both Q University applicants and R University applicants, she is assigned as a candidate for Q University.)
d. Selected applicants may not apply for any other outgoing student exchange program in the future, including those for other regions for the Fall semester 2011.
3. Required Documents
a. A printed copy of completed application form(Attachment "Application Form")
b. A copy of official transcript (Korean Version)
c. A copy of official language test score result required by the universities the student is applying for
※The language test result must be less than 2 years old by September 2011. (The test date should be later than September 2009.)
※Unofficial copies of language test score results will not be accepted.
d. Statement of Purpose : Please write about your aspirations, plans for the exchange program and specific reasons why you chose this university.
4. Application procedure
a. Complete and print the attached Application Form and submit it with other required documents to the applicant's Department Office or College Administration Office.
※Since the deadline may differ by each college, please check beforehand.
b. Officer at the applicant's College office will check the applicant's eligibility.
c. The Dean of each College will notify eligible applicants to the OIA office, by March 17(Thursday), 2011.
5. Nomination of the exchange student
a. OIA will organize the 'outgoing exchange student committee,' select successful candidates and nominate them to the partner (host) universities. (Nominations will be made only once.) The final decision of admission will be made by the host university. Being selected and nominated by SNU does not guarantee admission to the partner university's exchange program.
b. If a nominated student receives an offer of admission from the host university, he or she will depart Korea between August and October 2011, depending on the semester schedule of the host university.
c. If a student withdraws from the exchange program at any time after being selected by SNU, he or she will not be allowed to apply for any future outgoing exchange programs at SNU.
6. Period of study
Applicants must choose to study for either one (Fall 2011) or two (Fall 2011 and Spring 2012 semester) semesters at host university.
7. Fee
During the exchange program, exchange students must pay tuition at SNU and be enrolled at SNU, while being exempted from paying tuition fee at host universities. Other expenses, including but not limited to travel, accommodation, health insurance, textbook, passport and visa cost, are the personal responsibility of the student.
8. OIA Scholarship
Among the students who will have been successfully admitted to the host universities, OIA will select approximately 100 students according to their financial status and award them a scholarship of approximately KRW 2,000,000 (Due to OIA's budget in year 2011, this amount is subject to change) per semester.
9. Number of Credits
SNU regulations require that, while studying at a host university, undergraduate exchange students are required to register for at least 6 credits per semester, whereas a graduate exchange students are required to register for at least 3 credits per semester. Host universities may require exchange students to take a higher number of credits, in which case, students must follow both SNU and the host university's regulation.
10. Transfer of Credits
'SNU Outgoing Exchange Program Credit Transfer Regulations' states the requirements and procedures of the transfer of credits earned at host universities. The Dean of each College holds authority to decide the transfer of credits. Regarding credit transfers, please contact the administration office of your College at SNU.
11. Information about partner universities
a. For information about SNU's partner universities, please refer to the attachment "2011년 2학기 유럽지역 교환학생 파견계획(추가모집)" and visit the universities' exchange program website to check for more detailed information regarding eligibility, academic calender, course information, etc. Please check this information carefully before applying.
b. Exchange student experience essays from previous outgoing exchange students are available for review on the OIA website (http://oia.snu.ac.kr).
